West Ham face fresh FA investigation

|

West Ham face yet another investigation by the Football Association after a supporter set off smoke bombs during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Tottenham on Saturday.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man, named by the Daily Mail as Albanian West Ham fan Renaldo Haldeda, claiming he has already been charged by the London Metropolitan Police for throwing a missile onto a football pitch and criminal damage.  He has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on November 5th.

The FA will now request observations from West Ham ahead of a possible charge. Considering all supporters are searched on bridges before entering the London stadium, the FA may ask stadium how it was possible to smuggle the pyrotechnics into the stadium.

West Ham are still waiting the outcome of a FA investigation into crowd trouble at the West Ham v Burnley game in March earlier this year. West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady told London Assembly members that that case was being heard by the FA last week.

That photographer on WHTID smuggles his DSLR camera and a long zoom lens in to the ground – pyrotechnics are easy in comparison
