West ham fan persuaded Potts to join Luton

|

DanpottsFormer Hammer Dan Potts has admitted that it was West Ham fan John Still that convinced him to sign for Luton.

Luton manager Still, who is a life-long Irons fan and maintains strong links with the east London club swung it for former youth player.

Potts told local Luton press: “The gaffer is a big West Ham fan and he’s got a good relationship with West Ham. I think that’s maybe a coincidence. When I met him, if it had been any other club [that he managed] I probably would have joined.”

“There was talk and interest [from other clubs] but when I met the gaffer he laid on the line his wants for the season and what he thought about the club. We both saw it mutually from that respect and it was a bit of a no-brainer. I knew Pelly from West Ham and he’s been here for a couple of seasons now, so he definitely knows what it’s all about. When I came in it was nice to see faces that you know. That was pleasing.”
