West Ham go back for Zielinski

West Ham have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

According to a report from Gazetta Dello Sport, the Hammers are monitoring the 29-year-old player and might consider making a move for him in the next transfer window.

Zielinski has entered the final year of his contract with Napoli, which means he will become a free agent at the end of the season. It would be wise for the Italian club to consider selling the player during the January transfer window to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

West Ham go back for Zielinski

Normally, given the player’s age, this might be a rumour to dismiss. However, West Ham could be enticed by the prospect of a minimal expenditure, especially since David Moyes had expressed interest in signing the player in the summer of 2022. The age profile of the West Ham squad is a concern However, as Director of Football Tim Steidten is keen to recruit younger players.

Zielinski could become available for a reasonable fee midway through the season, and West Ham could certainly benefit from a player of his pedigree. Our recent defeat to Brentford highlighted the squad’s lack of depth in central midfield. Zielinski has been a pivotal figure for Napoli since his arrival at the club, contributing to their league title win last season.
