West Ham United have entered the fray for the highly sought-after Algerian striker Mohamed Amoura, according to L’Equipe. The 24-year-old has taken Belgium by storm with Union Saint-Gilloise, prompting interest from across Europe.
Amoura has been nothing short of sensational in Belgium. Since joining Union Saint-Gilloise last summer for a mere £2.5 million, he has amassed an impressive 22 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. Particularly noteworthy are his 18 league goals, showcasing his effectiveness in the Jupiler Pro League.
Described as “supersonic” by L’Equipe, Amoura is a mobile striker who utilises his pace and strong ball-carrying skills to his advantage. His intelligent movement allows him to not only function as a central striker but also drift wide and create opportunities for his teammates.
The Hammers’ need for a new striker is no secret. Veteran Michail Antonio, at 34 years old, remains their primary option, while Jarrod Bowen has been forced to fill the gap in Antonio’s absence. Amoura’s arrival could provide much-needed depth and competition in the attacking department.
