West ham legend Paolo di Canio is captaining a team called ‘Hammers Heroes’ with Martin Allen, Don Hutchinson , Rob Lee, Tony Gale and Ian Dowie at a football tournament called ‘F30 Legends’ today at Leyton Orient’s ground Brisbane road. The Tournament has been organised by Glen Hoddle who has recently been linked by some as a future West ham manager.The Hammers Heroes will play teams from Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. The Spurs side called ‘Super Spurs’ is captained by former hammer Teddy Sherringham while former Iron Nigel Winterburn is a team member of ‘Gunners Greatest’. Chelsea’s team ‘Blues Best’ is captained by former West ham manager Gianfranco Zola.
Hopefully Di Canio and his boys can make it a clean sweep this season by beating Spurs old boys.
The gates open at noon with the first match of West Ham v Chelsea kicking off at 1pm West ham v Spurs kicks off at 2.30pm and West ham v Arsenal at 4pm
Tickets start from £5 and are available on the door, West ham Legend Sir Trevor Brooking will be presenting the medals and trophies just after the final finishes at 6.15pm
Some of the money raised on the day will go to the Bobby Moore Fund.
