TalkSPORT presenter and former professional footballer Micky Quinn has claimed that he has just been tipped off that West Ham are trying to complete a sensational swoop for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge on transfer deadline day.
Quinn said on twitter just before 11am:
“Just heard West ham want Sturridge today” adding “The deal (is) all down to Liverpool (and) whether they want to let him go now or end of season”
Quinn was born and brought up in Liverpool and is a massive Reds fan. David Sullivan and his son Jack have played down expectations of a signing today but did leave the door slightly ajar for an exceptional signing.
We will attempt to get to the bottom of this rumour by talking to regular ClaretandHugh sources within the club.
I cant see it myself but a loan with option to.buy might not be out of the realms of possibility.
HaHa what the frig is with all the doom on the other site attached to this one about Bilic going in the summer or that Sullivan has undermined him in his interview this morning.I mean really what is going on?!?!?!?.
They have decieded they wouldnt blame him for going.Based on what. How they frig do they know he doeant love his job with us.Because they dont like things doesnt mean Bilic isnt happy. What a load of pap.As i said lastnight i love all West Ham fans but some do talk some clatrap just for the sake of talking.
@hammer & pickle … listening to sully on 5live last night he seemed calm and contemplative discussing payet. no need for drama – he’s gone & we’ve doubled our money. I can’t imagine slav’s time in management with Croatia or Besiktas was any less scrutinized or headache enducing. he’s man enough & I sense nothing more than a board supporting the manager.
as said, Sturridge on loan with an option would be sweet but not necessarily needed.
I hear what you’re saying gas.You are right.I couldnt work out what had made the budgies fly round some fans heads though because there really was little in the interview to cause such drama.
Personally I don’t rate Sturridge we are in no trouble now this season wait til the summer and see what happens then
I dont mind him as a player but he seems to have dropped off a bit in recent times.Loan until the end of the season but i dont see it happening.Deadline Day gossip i expect 😋
If I was a betting man I would bet that Carroll gets Injured the minute this window closes if we don’t sign a striker – ” Typical “
