West Ham job appeals to top candidate Paulo Fonseca.

Lille manager Paulo Fonseca is interested in becoming the West Ham manager if David Moyes leaves the club this summer.

That is according to a number of reports which suggests that the Hammers are admirers of Fonesca and could target the 50-year-old as a replacement for Moyes.

It seems that he is open to the idea of moving to the London Stadium and is considering his future with Lille where he has a year left on his current deal.

He has led the club to fifth place in Ligue 1 behind PSG, Marseille, Lens and Monaco but is reported keen on a move to the Premier League.

Any such move will depend largely on whether the Hammers remain in the Premier League but he is certainly one of those the Hammers are currently considering as a Moyes replacement towards the end of a desperate 22/23 season.

Fonesca is also reported to have been keeping an eye on the London Stadium situation and would be ready to make the move.

    Very much a YES

I’m still reading that Moyes is expected to be in charge next season.
    I really really hope not.

He’s hardly been tearing up tree’s throughout his management career has he? Not sure why there is such a desire for him to be honest. Happy to be educated though…

He is a very good candidate. I’m incredulous that some people don’t realise what a prestigious job this is, manager of a Premier League historic club with world recognition of its name, playing in a massive stadium in front of passionate fans. Who is available? Quite simply many ambitious top level managers anywhere. This is West Ham United.

I say a no. 5th in the French league doesn’t qualify for a Premier League job.
I’d rather WH went for Di Canio.

  • Budgie says:

It’s a no from me. The premier league is becoming a graveyard for managers with 14 kicked out this season alone.
I don’t envey the Biard trying to find someone who can cope with the pressure of instant success. Despite David Moyes having given us more success in last three years than in previous 40 he is unlikely to survive due to fan pressure following quite a bit of bad luck this season coupled with unexciting football in most games.
Of course if we win Conference League then the decision gets even more difficult
