Hammers look to replace Moyes with Dutch sensation

West Ham may reconsider a familiar name in their pursuit of a replacement for David Moyes at the end of the season. Numerous news outlets are reporting the Hammers interest in a man labelled ‘Europe’s most attacking coach’. Feyenoord’s Arne Slot was previously suggested as a potential successor when Moyes faced serious pressure as Hammers manager last season.

The Dutch coach, credited with leading Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season, has received widespread praise as an ultra-attacking manager, drawing comparisons to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

During the summer, Tottenham explored the possibility of appointing Slot before ultimately choosing Ange Postecoglou. Now it seems there is speculation about whether the Feyenoord boss could be headed to The London Stadium. Slot himself has openly stated that he intends to manage in England once his stint in Holland ends.

In a recent statement, Slot expressed, “My next step will not be a club in Holland. If that is my next step, then I’ve failed completely. The normal next step will be to go abroad, and I’ve always said the best league in the world is the Premier League.”

Regarded as an attack-minded coach in his home country, some believe Slot to be the most progressive coach in the Netherlands since Johan Cruyff at Ajax in the 1980s. His potential recruitment by West Ham could bring significant changes to the team and a massive contrast to David Moyes philosophy.
