West Ham to decide on defender

West Ham will decide soon whether defender Nayef Aguerd has suffered a concussion which will keep him out of the Morocco squad during the international break. We understand the central defender could miss the match against Tanzania next week as a result of the knock to the head he took in the match against Nottingham Forest and has remained at the club until the decision is made.

It won’t be an easy decision to make apparently but under the protocol currently in place he will be unable to play should he be found to have suffered concussion. The reality is of course that would probably suit the club better but there is no club v country scenario in place and a decision should be made before the end of the week.

Meanwhile Jarrod Bowen must have a chance of appearing in the England team tomorrow evening’s European Championship match against Malta who are bottom of Group C having no points and 16 goals scored against them in seven matches. The problem is of course however well he might oplay his performance will probably be under valued given the poverty of the opposition with England having now qualified
