West Ham MUST go for Maddison

Should – as seems very likely now – Leicester City crash out of the Premier League West Ham must move in for James Maddison immediately…pronto!

We missed out despite a lot of interest when he when leaving Norwich City, He will not want to the Championship football and this is West Ham’s second chance.

Leicester City are a selling club. That is probably why they are where they are tonight and Maddison should be a major target for us.

James Maddison should be high on West Ham's transfer list should Leicester crash out of the Premier League

West Ham must go for Maddison

We will presumably be cash rich this summer and he looks just one we should bring in from the Rice money – £50 million to £60 million should get him.

Another we could be looking at is James Ward-Prowse at relegated Southampton. He has never played Championship football and won’t want to.

A great set piece operator he is a local lad but he will now see this as his time to move on. Either or both would be tremendous additions to the West Ham team.

We should also try for Harvey Barnes and Harry Souttar, in my opinion.

I would hope we have no interest in signing Madison. He is the definition of a luxury player. The difference between a player like Madisson and Paqueta is not alone is Paqueta technically brilliant like Madison he also likes to do the hard grafting and his work rate is brilliant so yes i would love a skillful player to replace Soucek but in the mould of Paqueta not a Madison.

  • Clive says:

Harvey Barnes is more the player that would fit the Moyes mould. Similar to Bowen. Has some skill, scores goals and assists but more importantly is a grafter.
