West Ham United’s hopes for European football have taken a significant hit following a win for Newcastle and a draw for Manchester United. Newcastle’s victory over Sheffield United places them four points ahead of West Ham, whilst also enjoying a game in hand and a superior goal difference. Meanwhile, Manchester United secured a draw against Burnley, leaving them five points clear of West Ham with a game in hand.
These outcomes, coupled with West Ham’s draw against Liverpool at the London Stadium, have nearly extinguished any chance of European competition for the Hammers next season. It is still mathematically possible for us to clinch a Euro spot but it would require a miracle.
Whilst it’s tempting to pin today’s result against Jurgen Klopp’s team as the pivotal moment for West Hamās struggles, the real culprits have been the matches against teams like Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Fulham, and Burnley, which have truly cost David Moyesā side a spot in the Europa Conference League next season.
Top 8 will have Europe unless man united win the cup and finish 9th

So no damage done
Simply⦠we havenāt been good enough and donāt deserve to be in any Euro competition. Now letās have an overhaul⦠starting with Moyes being replaced. Heās served the Hammers well but itās time for him to move on.
Now there can be reason for Moyes to be kept as manager. If you want to play a defence style game you need the players to do it. Have West Ham got the defence, not at all. A need to rebuild is a must. So why has no contract been given to Ben Johnson? Too many mistakes at management level. Time for a big big change, with a manager who isnt afraid to play a game of football.
The 4-3 defeat against Newcastle killed us.
