West Ham United’s pursuit of Corinthians’ young forward Wesley Gassova appears to be heating up. Here’s a breakdown of the situation:

On April 23rd, reports emerged from Rádio Itatiaia that West Ham had offered €15 million for Gassova, a promising 19-year-old. However, Corinthians rejected the bid.

Undeterred, West Ham has reportedly returned with a more substantial offer of €18 million, according to ESPN Brazil. This offer is being facilitated by former player Naldo, who is now part of the N29 sports agency.

Corinthians haven’t yet accepted West Ham’s improved offer. Intermediaries involved in the deal are reportedly trying to persuade the Brazilian club to accept.

Further developments in this transfer saga are expected in the coming days. It remains to be seen if Corinthians will be swayed by West Ham’s increased offer or hold out for a higher price.

Gassova, a product of Corinthians’ youth academy, has been a regular starter since his promotion to the first team in 2022. He has amassed 58 appearances, scoring six goals and providing three assists.

West Ham’s pursuit of Gassova reflects their interest in acquiring promising young players. Whether they can secure his services with their latest offer remains to be seen.
