West Ham pitch invader faces three year ban

|

InvaderThe West Ham fan who ran onto the London Stadium pitch yesterday after Sakho scored has been arrested and will be bailed ahead of a future magistrates court appearance. Winston Reid embraced the pitch invader who ran on the pitch, the fan also shook Slaven Bilic’s hand before being escorted away by security.

Friends of the arrested West Ham supporter have named the invader Ryan Johnson on social media but this has yet to be confirmed officially. The Football Association will most likely “seek observations” from West Ham as how a fan was allowed to enter the field of play which is normal practice.

The Met Police football unit tweeted out post-match  “For the information, the pitch runner London Stadium at the West Ham v Swansea fixture was arrested and is currently being dealt with.  Not big or clever”

If found guilty the arrested supporter is likely to receive a standard three-year football banning order from the courts.
