The difference between Declan Rice and Josh Cullen looks extremely unfair.

  • blimeylimey says:

    3 of the top 4 aren’t even playing……

  • Welling says:

If those salaries are genuine then whoever is responsible for them at the club should be sacked immediately.

Fonte £75k a week, whilst Our Club Captain is on £50k a week.

    You couldn’t make it up!

    • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Sadly, Welling, you don’t need to make up the ignorance you’re displaying with a comment like that, because this forum is full of people who don’t think before they spread their spurious, ill-founded comments all over the internet….

  • Clive says:

poor young declan. practically a pauper by premier league footballer terms. they must pay the players according to their fifa rating. decs only a 60 rating.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

    Calm down, everyone…

A contract is agreed at a point in time. At that time, the club offers a salary that they deem fair for the value they expect the player to deliver. The player only signs that contact if they are happy with it. It’s irrelevant at that time what other players are on. If the player exceeds the value the club expected, as is the case with Dec, then the club will offer an improved contract AT THAT TIME based on what they expect the player to deliver moving forward from that point.

Contracts don’t ebb and flow with a player’s form, and they last a long time.

There are other factors involved, such as the upfront cost of that player from wherever they’ve signed from.

Stop being so short-sighted and quick to judge.

If we had a fantastic defensive record, with Hart between the sticks and Fonte playing every game, you wouldn’t question it.

Hernandez IS playing!! He’s our second highest scorer and came with an expectation that justified his wages.

Noble (whilst I love him to bits) is getting on and £50k per week seems reasonable for him. It is entirely irrelevant what Fonte is getting and not comparable. Based on your comment, he should be the club’s highest paid player if he’s captain….?!?

When the contracts run out, then the players will either be sold, released or offered a new one that reflects their value to the club at that point. The player is entirely free to decide if they’re happy to sign it, so get off the club’s back!

Give it a rest with all this ridiculous club-bashing! You’re just showing your ignorance!
