Better late than never, efforts are being redoubled to sign a goal scorer at West Ham United, according to multiple reports today linking the club with three or four second division – appropriate centre forwards.
Earlier articles suggested the Hammers are in the mix for Wilson Isidor, Sunderland’s Championship – proven goalscorer and our own source dropped news of a frontman from Ligue 1 with whom West Ham could be close to ‘striking’ a deal.
From normally reliable journalist Alan Nixon comes news this afternoon connecting West Ham to a former target from last year who would be a more realistic signing for football in the Championship: The same player twelve months ago was considered inferior for the Premier League and, indeed, was sold in 2024 by then rivals Tottenham Hotspur who obviously felt the same about his suitability for the top tier.

Reported by insidefutbol.com, it seems the same player is now back under consideration for life in the Championship:
“Tottenham Hotspur could be closer to a cash windfall due to a Troy Parrott move as West Ham United would be prepared to pay his asking price, unlike some rivals, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
West Ham have just entered the race and unlike other suitors are prepared to pay Parrott’s asking price of over £20m.”
Northern Ireland international Parrott plays his football at AZ Alkmaar and it seems the Dutch side are prepared to let him go if the price is right. Indeed, whether it be any of the trio mentioned today, there’ll be a certain relief amongst fans that the Irons are close to splurging £20-odd million on another goal scorer to hit the ground running and spearhead their promotion push.
From the lack of goals in pre-season, doing nothing and just hoping that the existing squad has sufficient goals in it would not seem an option.
Reasonably fast and scores goals this would be a start. Is he better than Ilenikhena?
