West Ham United’s pursuit of Ruben Amorim as their next manager takes an unexpected turn as the club reportedly sent an official to scout a recent Sporting CP match.

Last week, West Ham fans were excited by the prospect of Amorim taking the helm, only to see their hopes dashed by reports of a failed negotiation and the manager’s apology to his current club Sporting CP.

A Portuguese news outlet, Record, has revived the Amorim rumour mill. According to their report, a West Ham official was present at the recent Porto vs Sporting CP match, supposedly to “take notes.” This has sparked speculation of a renewed interest in Amorim.

Now, there are two possible explanations for the official’s presence:

West Ham might have reconsidered Amorim’s candidacy. His exciting, attacking brand of football is a major contrast to David Moyes’ approach, and could be a welcome change for West Ham fans, or probably more likely the visit could be solely focused on evaluating Sporting’s 25-year-old winger, Pedro Goncalves.

While the scouting mission offers a glimmer of hope for Amorim’s appointment, it remains unclear whether West Ham’s interest in the manager has truly reignited.

Let’s talk about Callum O’Hare and Jacob Greaves from the championship. Two typical Moyes signings if you ask me and If Moyes is leaving why are we being heavily linked to these two?
