West Ham set new London PL record

|

West Ham have finished above Arsenal for the first time in Premier League history.

The Hammers are guaranteed to finish above Arsenal what ever happens on Sunday,

The Irons only need a point to guarantee to also finish above Spurs who face Leicester City

Spurs need a win and must rely West Ham to lose to jump above us.

West Ham last finished above Spurs in the 2007/08 season when the Hammers finished tenth and the North London team 11th.  Prior to that it was the 2001/2002 season when the Hammers finished seventh and Spurs ninth.

The Hammers can finally shake off the label as the fourth London team in the Premier League, well  for this season at least anyway. Maybe it will give us a solid platform to regularly target a top three London spot.

The Irons are on target to finish in the top six of the Premier League on Sunday while qualifying for Europe.

Thanks Hugh – while I want a win on Sunday – and as pointed out a point would be enough, given that Spurs have a tough game at Leicester and Everton are extremely unlikley to thrash Man City, we could lose and still finish 6th above Spurs and Arsenal

Anyway I know that Moyes will not allow the boys to slacken and if Jesse is leaving he will want to go oput on a high
