No. Im not sure his self centred approach would be a good fit. And anyway he’s not a striker

  • Harry says:

Of course we’d take him back. He was a lot of fun and weve always loved a maverick at West Ham haven’t we.

  • Petr Stepanek says:

He is a toxic man and we don’t need him disrupting the team. Some people never learn, and he is one of them.

  • Douglas Connell says:

As tempting as it is, I don’t think we should go back there. Although I can see goals coming from him what our team has at the moment in terms of spirit and togetherness cannot be underestimated in relation to our performance. We are United! All it takes is one bad apple. COYI’s

  • Geoff says:

Shouldn’t really matter whether the fans want him back or not tbh. If Moyes wants him go for it, if he doesn’t move on and try to bring in someone he does.

  • Russell Burke says:

Moyes has said that he’d welcome the challenge of having Arnie in the team. If that’s true I don’t see another problem. He could play alongside Antonio (when fit) with a 2 upfront and as he is fitter he’d have to track back.

  • Saul says:

    Certainly not

  • DJHammer says:

Morally speaking, absolutely no way, he treated us with contempt after elevating his standing within the game. He then cashed in based on his newly enhanced notoriety as a central striker, all at our expense as it left us light up front (not for the first time).

Football wise, he fits into the team perfectly, running in behind, stretches defences, knows the club, unplayable on his day.

For what it’s worth, I voted no.

  • Geefunkhammer says:

Short term contract, not silly wages, maybe, but don’t really see the point.

  • mooro66uk says:

Is he the same player that we remenber? If not, is he worth 100k per week?
Is he prepared to warm the bench if the young, hungry striker we’re promised arrives?
Will he buy into the great spirit the team currently enjoys?
If the answer to all these is yes, then go get him.
So many questions but I suppose, in the end, it’s down to Moyes.

  • WestOzHammer says:

Article says he wants 100k/WK. No chance.
I’d rather have Ings for that money… And even then he’s too old too injury prone.

    Walk on Marko …

  • Frank Martin says:

He is getting older and I don’t how long he will be at his best. I liked him, fast and dangerous. I would have him back but I think it will be short term

  • ljd1980 says:

Maybe Arnie behaved as he did back in 2019 because he could see what clowns Pellegrini and team were AND he happened to have an enormous offer from China. He seemed to have a good relationship with Moyes, so it could work. As long as the wages were reasonable, and he was used as backup rather than first choice. The way he worked a back line was something to see, and something that I thought Haller could’ve had a go at doing (f he could have been bothered). Arnie (if anywhere near his pomp) and Antonio (when fit) would be a serious handful for any back four.

  • OrbearRider66 says:

Before I’d even consider it, he’d have to replace his manager. For as much trouble as Marko caused, his brother was 10x worse.

  • Graham Watts says:

    It’s a no from me!

  • Bonzo says:

Only if he plays for FREE.

    • Childish says:

A lot depends on whether the squad would want him .imo
If half think he is a dick, which he is then no ..if most have no problem with him ,and he knows his place and he can still perform the same then maybe..

  • Clive says:

Some ex players wanted to come back & didn’t – Paul Ince, Jermaine Defoe. Others who did haven’t performed & I fear Arnautovic would also struggle to make any impact.

  • Spotty Dog says:

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking we could never win without you in the side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did us wrong
And I grew strong, and we learned how to get along

Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now, cos you’re not welcome anymore
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt us with goodbye?
    You think we’d crumble?
You think we’d lay down and die?

No, not Irons, we have survived.
