West Ham are set to make a second bid for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, according to reports in Brazil.

The 29-year-old stopper is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League following his impressive performances in the Club World Cup.

Yesterday, Fabrizio Romano revealed the Hammers had a €8 million offer rejected, but it’s now being reported that a second bid—potentially above €10 million—could be submitted today.

It’s unclear whether Victor would be West Ham’s backup or first choice

ExWHUEmployee also disclosed yesterday that there is a buyout clause in Victor’s contract, and it was suggested that the player may have been offered to West Ham by an agent.

The club remain interested in both Mads Hermansen and Zion Suzuki, but momentum behind those moves appears to have slowed over the past 24 hours.

As the search for a new No.1 continues, Ex has this morning confirmed that any new keeper would compete with Alphonse Areola who is expected to stay at West Ham.

Not to worried about this as Sullivan will task Brady with closing the deal and we all no how that ends up

Areola staying is hardly a surprise considering his wages and his form. Nobody wants our dead wood.

The only offers they get are from Saga Holidays.

Sounds like he is plan b if the other 2 won’t lower their asking price. Bit more of a risk but leaves funds for strengthening elsewhere.

Interesting that Burnley are taking a punt on Broja. Suffered with injuries but still has 10 years on Wilson!

Hermansen or Suzuki definitely NOT coming to West Ham , pie in the sky , we only sign over the hill or players nobody else wants, what a sideshow this club has become, and I’m still supporting after 60 years…..

Well, if you’ve not yet realised it the rebuild is on hold, only free and under £10m transfers preferred no real investment from the barrow boy! I suppose we could sell Paqueta for a few bob to tie us over and no doubt Sullivan can’t wait for the window to close so he doesn’t need to spend. Foolish of me to expect anything different, truly laughable the worst run club in the Premiership, Sullivan never fails to deliver mediocrity, disdain and insult, needs replacing asap before it’s too late.
