West Ham target is now a free agent

BelfodilAccording to reports in Italy the Hammers will have a fresh look at persuading long term target Ishak Belfodil to join them this summer on a free transfer. The 23 year old Algerian striker’s contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier this month after Parma were relegated.

Nobody at Parma has been paid since July 2014 and in March the club was put in administration. The player has waived his 700,000 Euros per season contract worth approximately £9,750 per week to became a free agent.

“Ishak Belfodil and Parma FC today terminated by mutual consent the contract which would have kept him at the club until June 2018,” the club announced on its official website.

Belfodil explained “I terminated my contract because I still had three years left with a high wage. As a free agent, I hope to have a few more advantages finding a new club”

Belfodil started his football career in France with Paris Saint-Germain, Clermont and Lyon, before moving to Italy with Bologna on loan and eventually Parma.Eight goals in his first season led to a move to Inter Milan in 2013, but after no goals he was farmed out on loan to Livorno, with Parma re-purchasing him last summer.

    Why are we still being mentioned with the same players from last summer.Slimani,Belfodil.Lets get Hippo out of the club,get someone new in asap & let him & the board sit down & see who they & he fancies signing.

    Agreed,but lets see what happens.Really hope we can get some pace & energy into the midfield.So slow & ponderous at the moment.Slow & ponderous,i guess they mirror the manager in every respect.

    In the last year he scored 1 goal, in the last 3 years 9 goals… I’m sure there’s someone better than him… 😉

    It’s because he is free he can sit on the bench like Nene,
    Why are we not after a forward that have scored 20 goals in 1 season ?
    And I agree we need a brilliant Midfield General first,
    We have 4 forwards Carroll,Valencia,Sakho and Lee with Zarate and Magia returning,
    We have Poyet to replace Song,we need a right back a spare keeper,
    You need a mature proven leader with 3 or 4 good years left in him,
