Manuel Pellegrini is currently earning 18 million Euros per year in China which converts to over £15.7m – pay package which makes him more highly paid than any other current Premier League manager.
Pep Guardiola is paid £15.3m annually closely followed by Jose Mourinho at £15m per season. Outgoing manager Arsene Wenger earns £8.5m, Jurden Klopp £7m with Antone Conte and Rafa Benitez both on £6.5m.
Sacked Sam Allardyce was earning £6m at Everton while Mauricio Pochettino is the poor man on just £5.5m per season.
Pellegrini was earning just £4.2m per year when he left Manchester City in 2016 but will want more than double that to return to the Premier League. Rafa Benitez would want £8.5m per year to join West Ham plus huge bonuses.
David Moyes was recently paid just over £2m for six-months of work, both Slaven Bilic and Sam Allardyce earned annual packages worth around £3m per year.
The West Ham board will need to invest big to land a big name manager of either Pellegrini or Benetiz.
No spending means no gain in today’s football . The wage demands are far too much and normal people who survive on 20 to 30 grand a year ( or less ) can’t understand it . These people earn ( or are given ) more money per week than the everyday normal worker couldn’t earn in ten lifetimes . Makes one wonder if Football is so important after all .
Wenger looks like great value, pay him £10m plus a £2m bonus to qualify for Europa League, £6m for Champions League.
So why not double Poch’s salary and give him 150 mil to buy players? That would be fun!
Sounds good Ozam 🙂
