West Ham’s first transfer target is on the radar

Forest’s Joe Worrall was linked with the club last summer when David Moyes appeared to have his mind fixated on Harry Maguire but according to the London Evening Standard – which is usually very reliable Worrall is now a serious proposition.

It makes perfect sense for us to move for the player who was crucial to Forest’s promotion but fell down the pecking order after a row with sacked manager Steve Cooper. However, he is now back in training after being left out of squads under the previous manager.

He fits our requirements perfectly at 26 years old and with his contract having a year and a half to run at the end of the season. He is priced at between £10-£15 million and the fact that he is home grown – which is what we are after – is excellent.

The Hammers definitely need a player in this position given Zouma’s dodgy knees, Aguerd’s form and Oggy’s age. Worrall look a perfect option and it is to be hoped the Irons can get a deal done quickly.

Do you honestly believe we would sign him !!!!! Are we preparing for the championship lol lol. Beginning to worry about you. Not in a 100 years does he suit the profile of player Tim is looking at. Cannot see any truth in this, not even something fit enough to be called a rumour, sorry but very much a joke.

I have seen him, too much of him. Very average PL player. I wonder why he is not making the Forest team !!!

I agree with john. Worrall is nowhere near the required calibre to play in a top half PL team. He is a good solid Championship defender but that really is his level.

No matter what reasons they may have had not to play him, If he’s one of the best CB’s at the club you play him, especially for a club like Forest who can’t really be affording to cut their noses off to spite their own face.

A quick rummage through the Forest forums tells you that the majority of their fans are willing to offload him to to anyone daft enough to pay for him speaks volumes.
