West Ham’s losses set to be revealed

|

West Ham is expected to announce a substantial loss for the financial year that ended in May 2020.

The announcement which could come as early this month is expected to show a decrease in turnover and a significant loss for last season.

The financial accounts which need to be filed at Companies House by the end of February will reveal the first impact of the pandemic.

Losses for last season are thought to be around £40m, a lot worst than the £27m lost by the club in 2019.

Last year the financial accounts were released on 30th January and we could see a similar official publication at companies house in late January or sometime in February.

If an announcement is made before the winter transfer window ends on 1st February it could go some way to lay the club’s finances bare for all to see.

This season’s financial accounts which won’t be published until next January are likely to be greater still with over £50m of losses forecast so far.

Just seen sky sports, VILLA AGREE £14M SANSON FEE, we spot these players then lose them to different clubs, why is it other clubs like Wolves can sign their transfer targets and have money to spend when we don’t??
