West Ham’s Rice open on move to European club

|

Declan Rice is understood to have told close friends and confidantes that he is prepared to join any club in Europe or the Premier League this summer where he can win medals.

All the focus has been on Arsenal but the West Ham skipper is ready to move anywhere home or abroad .

The truth is he has not been made up  despite constant media talk.

Real Madrid are now  in the frame as a possible destination having kept an eye on the 24 year old for months and that could easily tempt the Hammers captain.

As we reported last Saturday Manchester City also have him on their short list but are only ready to offer £70 million plus Kalvin Phillips. The Hammers are demanding £120 million in cash.

CandH has been told by a source close to Declan that Chelsea is not as prominent a destination as has been suggested and that Arsenal’s interest is basically media talk.

He said: “Declan won’t be going anywhere until he is certain it is somewhere he can win certain and that could easily be in Spain, Germany, France or Italy as well as the Premier League.”

The only club he’s almost guaranteed silverware is Manchester City. Would be quite ironic if he won European trophy at West Ham then went to Arsenal and won nothing.

Dec, if you don’t want to stay with us then that’s fine and I can certainly understand why and don’t blame you. So consider helping out the national team and join Bellingham at Real Madrid.

  • Austrick says:

Hope he goes abroad – would probably get more game time and Champions League certainties. Wouldn’t like to see him often at WH as others have like Lamps and Rio. Rice and Modric in same team would be formidable.

  • BoleynIrons says:

Bellingham and Rice in midfield alongside Modric or Koos would be frightening but the best move for Rice.
We should have his replacement already ready to sign on the dotted line like Brighton would have done but we’ll wait to other clubs see that £120m figure and add another £20m to a second rate player. Oh and if Moyes is still here we might as well not bother signing anyone.
