Where are the Irons in net spend PL table?

|

It probably won’t be too long before the perennial transfer window words “net spend” begin to spring off some people’s lips as we get further into the transfer window.

We are already hearing the complaints that Covid 19 appears to only be affecting West Ham’s window funds but of course that’s not true.

Other clubs – with a lack of season ticket money and general revenue available – are finding the availability of ready cash a problem suggesting that net spends this time around will be way down.

And with the attention likely to soon turn to how much or how little may be spent on players, a new table produced on figures provided by courtesy of www.transfermarkt.com makes interesting reading.

Whilst Liverpool and Tottenham’s over achievement in recent years is highlighted by a quick glance at Premier League clubs’ net spend over the past five years, although the same cannot be said about Manchester United, West Ham, Aston Villa and Brighton .

Here’s how the figures work out based on the transfermarkt figures.

1. Man City – £601.98m
2. Man Utd – £484.88m
3. Arsenal – £267.88m
4. Everton – £225.42m
5. Brighton – £214.86m
6. Wolves – £205.22m
7. West Ham – £187.49m
8. Bournemouth – £176.95m
9. Aston Villa – £166.65m
10. Watford – £125.69m
11. Leicester City – £124.83m
12. Newcastle – £122.91m

Counts for nothing unless we remain 7th it there about this year too and most seasons

All clubs suffer from covid so that not a reason for us to fall off

Shows the people making the decisions are increasingly incompetent.

Our net spend shows how bad the Chairmen are in business, in terms of funds spent they have spent a lot, what they have failed to do which the other clubs have done well is sell players for a profit. Hopefully Moyes will be allowed to buy players have them for 2/3 seasons and sell them on for a profit so we can turnover more high quality players and buy better.
