As chair of the West Ham United Independent Supporters Association (WHUISA) I just wanted to update everyone on the current situation after yesterday’s cancellation.
We were happy to support the Real West Ham Fans Campaign Group, and and welcomed the opportunity to join them in meeting Karren Brady and her colleagues.
As the only organisation affiliated to the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) we felt it was important to be part of the discussions with the club.
We only became part of the group after the announcement of the protest march and throughout the discussions with the club we made it clear at every junction that we believed the march should happen, including after the meeting on Wednesday 28th February.
WHUISA exists to represent our members and the feeling amongst fans as best we can. Our members and the wider fan base made it abundantly clear that they want the march to happen so we have taken action.
We have today worked with the FSF, the Met Police and spoken to Newham Council to save the march and give our fans a chance to show their lack of confidence in the current direction of West Ham United. As it stands there will be a change of route but the authorities are in consultation for a peaceful protest to go ahead on Saturday 10th March.
We ask people to be patient while we complete the consultation and hopefully give all West Ham fans a chance to have their voice heard. In the meantime please check back via the WHUISA website or our social media channels.
great news that the march has since been called off. now we can all put our effort into being united behind the one true cause and get behind the team for the vital games ahead and for the rest of the season. the timing of the march for the burnley game was also disrepectful to the memory of bobby moore so im doubly glad its been cancelled.
thousands of us who care about West ham United will still be marching before the march. When the match kicks off we support our team.
It is going ahead and I believe it will galvanise more people in to going
The promise was investment in a team to match a 66,000 stadium with great views etc and moving towards the next level.
Reality 17/18 is –
SOLD Ayew, Sakho, Nordvelt, Fletcher, Randolph, Fonte, Valencia, Feghouli INCOME CIRCA £70M
Purchased Arnautovic, Chicharito, Hugill and Haksabanovic OUTGOINGS CIRCA £53M
How do you move forward with negative investment.
The saviours of the club are charging higher than bank rate interest – no real money is invested the debt remains in loans to G and S.
Professional communication consists of pronouncements via Mr Sullivan,s sons and Karen in a tabloid rag.
