Speaking ahead of Middlesbrough’s FA Cup third-round replay with Spurs in London tomorrow, Woodgate said: “The situation is with Darren it’s the longest medical I’ve ever known in history and I’ve had a few medicals myself and, believe it or not, I’ve passed a few. But this is unbelievable really, let’s see what happens over the next 48 hours.”
“Darren’s a professional. Look what he’s done for the football club, he’s been an outstanding keeper for us so he’ll be professional. He’ll be fine, Is he going to be a No2? Fabianski’s injured so he’s going for No1, isn’t he? Listen I love Darren Randolph he’s a top keeper, he hasn’t gone yet so let’s see.”
How many deals have been completed in this window so far?
Bit of a joke really, how many months ago did Fab get injured and everyone has identified we need a back-up keeper!!! Targets should have been in place on Jan 1st with deals following shortly after, regardless of a manager change.
Let’s wait and see…… No deals completed yet!
I’m sure Woodgate has had those same lines used on him, as he had a career blighted by injury himself. It would’ve been nice to have Darren Randolph back with us, but at this point in time gambling is not an option.
As much as a torch is shone on Woody, this situation boils down to an injured player being replaced by yet another injured player. Both players will not be fully fit just, so in the mean time what do West Ham do until then – good business Moyes!
