Zarate’s departure – what the fans think!

|

Mauro Zarate has gone – allowed to leave in order for Emmanuelle Emineke to arrive.

The Argentinian has had a chequered Irons career and is best likened to Marmite – you either do or you don’t.

Here’s what the fans are saying at the ClaretandHugh website and Facebook Group @https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/

Mauro-Zarate-West-Ham-UnitedO The real questions we have to ask now is if we replace him with an equal or better player or will we not and sign someone worse. Lets not let this haunt us like many times in the past. Make the right decision west ham learn from previous mistakes. COYI!!

O Like it or not – fat Sam was right about Zarate…. just not good enough.

O Personally I think it’s bad news letting him go . .. But all the talk of West Ham not making changes in the January window now seems a little shuttered and hush hush .

O Right move for player and club. I will remember him for his screamer against Chelsea and his free kick against Brom! Now give Samuelsen a chance next term

O H’s been thanking everyone except Slaven. Hmmmm…

O He scored a couple of goals but I never rated him. Not a patch on Lanzini or Payet as an attacking midfielder nor as good a striker as a fit Carroll or Sakho. Nor did he have the ‘try hard but fail sometimes’ ethic of Carlton or Marlon. Won’t be missed by me.

O Major respect to Mauro…an example of how to leave a club with dignity.

Why are people saying that Sam was right? He may not be good enough for this team but he was certainly good enough to get into last seasons team.

Not a west ham player ! Selfish player , not a team player ,he had to go he also knew he wasn’t going to be in front of many players , existing and young ones ! Scored a few beauts but the time is right to move on.

My only problem with him was he wasnt a team player he wanted to do it all himself and often missed chances to give it to a player in a better position then ran into problems
