Arnie faces second scan

|

arn5Marko Arnautovic heads for a second scan on a possible hamstring issue today after the first proved inconclusive.

The £25 million record signing missed the 1-1 draw with Spurs after feeling some discomfort and was sent off for a scan yesterday.

But after it showed nothing the club decided to send him for a second later today as they bid to ensure he is fit for the vital run of games coming up after FA Cup weekend.

The Irons face a season defining series of games against Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Palace, Brighton and Warford between now and February 10.

And Arnautovic’s fitness will be vital as the team look to head out of relegation trouble given his tremendous form over recent games which has seen him bag five goals.

We were told: “It could be something or nothing but he will go for a second scan after the first proved inconclusive.”

Inconclusive and ‘nothing serious’ are very different things. Vital precautionary move. Arnautovic is crucial to our tactical options against relatively weaker, if equally desperate, PL opponents.

Just wondering about the number of injuries since Mr Moyes’ appointment. How do the post-Slaven injuries stats compare with those during the last three months of his tenure when concerns over mounting and recurrent injuries led to criticisms of Chadwell Heath as a training surface and of Slav’s disposition to general fitness?

Just the Xmas period taking effect. Can’t blame Moyes for upping the fitness regime for the injuries. Look how fit the City players are and C Palace. Teams that keep going for 90 mins. Maybe they were so unfit under Bilic it has took more out of them than it should have.
