DG reveals top priority transfer plans

|

gold-david-gold-west-ham-co-owner-july-2014_3179990David Gold has again confirmed the Hammers need a new striker as a top priority.

We revealed earlier this afternoon that Slaven Bilic is stepping up the chase for a striker this week with the closing of the summer window two weeks ago.

The co chairman – talking to ClaretandHugh exclusively – explained: “We are looking absolutely everywhere and are narrowing down the options.

“The Enner Valencia situation has of course made things much more urgent. We are doing everything we can to get a forward in and the manager is very much on the case. ”

However, he remains hopeful that Andy Carroll will be back by September saying: “He’s working really hard and not far away but we continue the hunt regardless of that.”

When we reminded him that perhaps we shouldn’t go to bed too early – in a reference to his famous winter deadline day tweet – he declared: “Not sure I’ll be using that line again!”

How about Jonathas ? He saved Elche from relegation last year (Elche ultimately were administratively relegated, but had secured first division status on the pitch) with his goals. Don’t know if he has signed elsewhere, but I would grab him without hesitating.

Forget about him. We are two weeks late. He signed to play for Moyes at Real Sociedad….

David, we need a winger with pace, we have Carroll and Sakho up front – we have no wide player with pace to replace Valencia and we have not replaced Downing. How many more times do we have to say this. It is a far more important signing than a striker. If we sign a striker we will have 3 strikers vying for one position shortly and we will still have no replacement for Valencia. I would have thought this is pretty obvious.

Yes i appreciate that Johnham, but since your relentless campaign against my fullback Jenkinson i have decieded not to buy a winger for you because you get right on my t*ts!!! 😉

Well , at least one can’t accuse West Ham of panic buying . Good Gracious it’s taking time .
I always liked Huddleston . Very useful and no slouch either . Maybe we can talk Pardew into letting Zaha go , haha ., no but seriously we need someone pretty sharpish and hope Bilic can get who he want’s .. It’s important that he does because whoever it is needs to fit into his new system right from the off .

Top priority now? Isn’t it a bit late for that? Guess what, the season has already started. Probably only the players teams are not bothered about losing will be available now. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with Nobody just like January. I won’t hold my breath and I won’t be losing any sleep over it. I will go to bed.

we have a good squad just needs tweaking a bit defo need 3 strikers fit at all times, and 1 wide player who can cross, and get rid of the weak links Miaga Noble Jarvis Nolan.
