Mauro Zarate is likely to be made available for loan or even a permanent transfer in the next transfer window assuming the club suffers no injury setbacks.
Zarate now looks to again have moved down the pecking order following the arrival of the transfer window signings whilst Manuel Lanzini is seen as the youthful creative force to be given every opportunity up front.
Zarate had a decent start to the season and maybe on the bench for Monday night’s game against Newcastle following but when everybody s fit his chances are set to be limited.
ClaretandHugh has learned exclusively that the club will be ready to let him take his chance either on loan or via a permanent move should the right sort of offer arrive.
We were told: “The club is so well off now in terms of squad depth it may be very much on the agenda if clubs come in.”
I know it’s difficult keeping all the players happy in a big squad, but a big squad is what we need as injuries will surely happen at West Ham. I don’t want another scenario where due to our squad depth we sell Zarate in January only to see our strikers dropping like flies again. I hope Zarate plays again and does a Lanzini and make himself undroppable.

That’s what you want from the likes of zarate if they are not playing. A good attitude and when you get your opportunity you take it. Lanzini took his opportunity. Played so well it makes it hard to drop him. That’s what you want. Then lanzini knows there’s a player like zarate on the bench. If lanzini has a bad game zarate takes his place. Competition for places improved performances.
