Irons speak on reported Payet interest from Nice

|

A morning report suggesting that Nice are ready to offer Dimi Payet a loan deal until the end of the season has been ruled out by West Ham.

According to the Sunday paper the ‘deal’ would have allowed the Hammers to offload his £125,000-a-week wages gave him his wish to return home.

And it claimed that having been  taken over by Chinese and American investors last summer the club had significant finds to make the deal happen.

But a top Hammers CandH source has quickly poured cold water over the story and made it clar there has been no approach of communication with the Ligue 1 leaders.

He said: “It would suit us for other clubs to come in on whatever basis but I can assure you this is not the case and the truth is that Nice do not have serious money available.

The deal is exactly where it was with offers from Marseilles having been turned down because they do not measure up to our valuation.”

Just get rid of him before the window closes , otherwise we will be stuck with him untill the summer . I don’t ( and I reckon most don’t ) particularly want to see him ever again donning a West Ham shirt . With a few decent signings we can prove we don’t need him . We could have seen that 1 – 3 win be a 3 – 1 loss in all honesty , so we definitely need something to happen before the end of January . Great defensive signing though .
West Ham United is not a marriage guidance service . We are a football club . Lots of players have issues at home with family and clubs do Thier very best to help them , naturally . But in this case the treatment shown to West Ham is not conjusant with nice behavior .

Kevin do you always have such a gloomy disposition. It seems every time we win you say it could have been a defeat.Im clearly only joking about with you but how about enjoying a win with no caveats attached to it for once Lol

I couldnt care where he goes.I think Lanzini will flourish with the extra responsibility. My only worry is if he gets injured then we have a lack of an unlock the defense door type player with an extra bit of creativity.

I agree I couldn’t care less either.. Personally I so disgusted with him..Id let him rot at the training ground (if we can afford to) fine him if he refuses to train.Hes the one loosing out.
On another note! If this was about family why wasn’t that his 1st statement ? we are a caring club who would have tried to sort something for him..We have never kept a player who didn’t want to stay..He was tapped up.What a shallow man. COYI

Fortunately the club is not run by hysterical fans high on emotion.

As far as I’m concerned, with the exception of any transfer fee, the is now irrelevant. He is no longer a West Ham player. If, as has been reported elsewhere, he’s returned to France never to return, fine. Surely we don’t pay him and his £125k per week is moot? Yes he cost the best part of £11mill, but we’ve had one blinding season out of him, with the associated merchandising that goes with it, so imo don’t think we’ve really lost that much on the initial investment.
If he want’s to get back in the national team, sitting at home on his fat derrière cramming bargain-buckets of KFC down his Gregory isn’t really going to work, so I can see him compromising on his destination at the end of the day as he needs playing time, especially at his age.
No loan. Sale only, min £30mill.
If not, hang tight SuGo, and make Le grande merde sweat it out!

  • TRB says:

£30m is a steal……… Payet is worth much more

    • CondorHammer says:

Totally agree TRB, and if we wait it out we may get more.
That’s why I say make him wait, and not snap OM’s hand off for £25mill now.
I’ll be honest mate and say that I’m totally contradicted about him. On the one hand I want him gone, now. The bloke’s obviously poison. But on the other, the thought of him fu£&I ng us over TWICE (with the ‘loyalty’ payment) sticks in my throat!
