|

It has been discussed and re-lived a million times or more but that’s OK because it was West Ham and England’s magical  moment.

And tomorrow (Sat) it will be 50 years since Mooro, Hursty and Peters put the then West Germany to the sword with an international victory which has never been repeated by the Three Lions on the world or European stage.

The 4-2 victory still lives large in the memories of some of us who were there on tht amazing day – a day of roller coaster emotions as the game swung to and fro.

Mooro became the most famous man in Britain and the world as the name of West Ham was mentioned almost as regularly as his.

We don’t expect to see a game such as this again and whenever you came to support West Ham United – then, later on or now, it is your victory, part of your folklore as fans of this great club.

Enjoy this fab footage from the days when the Irons made England great!
