EXCLUSIVE: Zarate making a big impression on Bilic

|

zarateMauro Zarate’s rebirth at West Ham looks to have secured his future under Slaven Bilic.

The Argentine striker looked set to leave Upton Park at the end of last season, but despite a troubled period in London he has found an admirer in the new manager.

And a well placed West Ham source told ClaretandHugh: “Everybody is delighted for him after the events of last season when it looked as though he would be on his way.

“His loan to Queens Park Rangers was not easy for him when there was all the publicity about his fitness doing the rounds.”

He was even have fined two weeks’ wages for throwing a tantrum before the game against Liverpool after storming out after failing to make the matchday squad at Anfield and returned to the capital on his own

The Upton Park hierarchy, however, are delighted at the way he has settled down under the new manager who has given him plenty of match time and been rewarded with two goals in five appearances – including the opener in the League game at  Arsenal.

ClaretandHugh was told exclusively: “Mauro has worked so hard in pre-season and made a great start in European games and last weekend. The manager is very pleased and the player’s  future looks more and more secure.”

Must admit I’d written him off but I was wrong. been impressed with his form and attitude this season. Well done son.

I like the guy, He’s a handful, but, I hope He learns to release the ball a bit quicker, and not try to take on the whole defence. I feel He will be a big asset this season. Another seed that was scattered on Allardyce’s stoney ground.

Agree, I think with the pace of Premier League, it’s very hard to take on 2-3 players by himself, and he has Payet to help him, so maybe do a bit of dribbling to find space, then pass or shoot. It’s a bit frustrating to see him losing possession after holding the ball for too long.
Though it’s still early days, I reckon he is yet to hit form, he looked to be still a short on fitness.

Good, glad the lad is seeming to be knuckling down.Probably just needed a Slav arm round the shoulder not be hoofed off to QPR 😉

He’s been decent so far, I agree with everyone though he needs to release the ball quicker. hopefully good things to come from Mauro this season

  • bubs says:

Not releasing the ball is all that makes the difference between him and the top Argies
Messi,Tevez,De Maria and Aguro all know when to release the ball but ball at feet looking around and finishing are good his work rate has gone up since last year,
Big bonus to Slav and helping us get through being shot up front,

He has gradually improved with more games and his performance against the gooners was top draw, he really worked hard when he didn’t have the ball. It’s too early too say if it can last, I think we should get another two strikers in now that it appears Valencia will need surgery and we don’t yet know what will happen to Sakho. If we don’t/can’t go for Austin hopefully the board can make it Negredo and another nippy player like Hernandez, so long as it’s strikers that can score more than 15 goals a season that should be enough.

Perhaps another reason why Slav doesn’t seem to see the striker need with the same panic style attitude as the media and sites like this…and, if we prove against Leicester that we are no flash in the pan, Slav’s insistence that they are only looking for a cheapie to fill the gap becomes more valid, especially with Carroll on the brink of returning.

  • boys of 66 says:

Slav has never said he wants a cheapie,at no point has he said he wants a cheapie.Every f*cking night you come on banging the same bloody drum Canchaz, but it is always factually incorrect. When has Slaven ever said he wants a cheapie, freebie or loan.Pls show us all this transcript where he says ‘i want a cheapie, loan or freebie’,ffs,i think you live on a different planet to everyone else where you get to read a different set of media reports. The otherday you even told us what Slav would say if asked about about a forward. Are you living in 2016 & come back to visit 2015 once a day to tell us what Slav has been saying. What did he say after the Leicester result, you must know by now? 😉

    • Radai Lama says:

66 you should know by now that Can is our mystic man.He can look into Slavens eyes & knows exactly what he is thinking. It is a rare gift only Canchaz seems to possess 😀

      • boys of 66 says:

Hahaha,i understand Rads that Canchaz is our mystic man,but when the **** has Slaven insisted he only wants a cheapie as Chaz calls it.He aint,at no point has he said he wants a cheapie, freebie, loan or whatever chaz wants to call it.It is in his own head but he says Slav said it,lmao 😉

  • bubs says:

Possessed is the way of it
Mystic canchaz ( nice ring to it )

  • Twinkle Toes Nolan says:

Lmao,Canchaz has ben spreading his mysticism here as well, wow,he seems to really know Slavs mind.Does he live in it,lol

  • whambam says:

I was in a Tardis last week, nice goal from Reece Oxfords Grandson who graduated through the Academy and Port Vale have had a £20 billion bid for him turned down

  • slaven a laugh says:

Looks like he’s got himself fit. Now he just needs to learn how to pass the ball to a team mate. reminds me of Diame the way he is capable of great individual moments but spends a lot of time dribbling into a crowded area and losing the ball.
