carroll andySam Allardyce seems ready to fast-track Andy Carroll back into first team action!

The big striker was due back at the training ground today after spending weeks in his Belgian rehab clinic.

And despite the manager claiming earlier that it would take him several weeks to regain first team match fitness, that may have changed.

For the manager revealed: ” “We hope to progress him as quick as possible into the squad.”

Meanwhile the manager seems ready to stick with Modibo Maiga as his front man at Palace tonight.

He said: “He hasn’t scored a goal and that’s what the fans see. But he was very, very good on Saturday. They are intelligent enough to have seen that.”

Likely line-up: Jaaskalainen, Demel, Collins, Tomkins, O’Brien, Noble, Diame; Jarvis, Noble, Downing; Maiga.
