Transfer policy written on the back of a fag packet

|

West Ham seems easy prey in the media at the moment moving from one PR disaster to another so it is perhaps no surprise that The Metro newspaper printed and web edition decided to stick the boot in and to poke fun at the Hammers with this preview of tomorrow’s game.

West Ham v Wolves Sunday 7 pm BT Sport says the headline followed by “A club with a coherent, well-funded team-building strategy visits another where transfer policy appears to be written on the back of a fag packet. In a good year. This summer, West Ham’s spending has been non-existent and it’s difficult to know which approach their fans dislike more. They at least have managed to keep hold of Declan Rice, with pandemic uncertainty perhaps ruling out some big-money suitors.”

Hard to disagree isn’t it, we can only hope our next owners are like the Wolves and Leicester ones who are quiet but decisive.
