Nolan looks for change of Christmas form!

|

NolanKevin Nolan was chuffed “to get the win” and “delighted to get another goal.”

The captain is featured in the official site’s ‘From the Dressing Room’ e-mail to fans today and is quoted as saying: “Hhopefully that’s the first of many.

“I’ve been training hard and just waited for my chance. For my goal it just dropped for me nicely. I’m disappointed I didn’t put the one away with the overhead – it’s a great save and I probably hit it too well.

“I thought we did pretty well. It was fantastic to make sure they didn’t score and we had to rely on Adrian on a couple of occasions, but all in all I thought the lads were brilliant. ”

Nolan admitted we have to continue the facntastic start over the next few weeks and declared: “We haven’t been really good over Christmas time, but we’ve got to put that right this year and make sure we are where we are now come January.

“I’ve now got a goal and I’m looking forward to another game against Swansea on Sunday. I’ve got quite a good record against them from last season and I’m feeling good so hopefully I’ll get my chance and score another couple.”

He has a completely different role now he is playing much deeper and is no longer a traditional no 10. So many players seem interchangeable this year, I suppose that’s because they are no longer sure to start in their preferred position. It’s all good.

I actually think the skipper will find himself back on the bench vrs Swansea but it does depend on the fitness of others.
