Dawson decision from Hammers

|

West Ham are now committed to bringing Craig Dawson onto the Hammers payroll permanently.

The club decided some time back that whether or not he played the number of games required he would be signed such was his impressive form.

We believe he was due to play 14 games before the commitment to buy kicked in but David Moyes had already made up his mind regardless of the clause and he will join at around £3 million.

He will become the first signing of the summer but it’s unlikely another central defender will be bought despite Fabian Balbuena being expected to leave.

Moysie is looking to his academy central defenders to provide the back up he requires to Daws, Angelo Ogbonna and Issa Diop.

Both Jamal Baptise and Ajibola Alese are liked by the boss with other positions being looked at closely in terms of the summer window.

Meanwhile, Arthur Masuaku and Andriy Yarmolenko are fully expected to return to full training with the first team squad from tomorrow ahead of the next match at Molineux.

Plus we have the young Danish central defender recently signed, reportedly he will get a few minutes game time before season end.
I’m wondering if Dawson’s fee has been increased, previous reports show a £2.2m settlement figure? Anybody know how much Watford are expected to pay for Ngakia, hopefully it’ll offset the Dawson fee, that’d be great business if possible!

Great signing of a good player who is happy to be here. He can also do so much for Alves, Baptiste and Alesi – and he is that sort of pro – what an acquisition. Next stop Jesse!!!

Excellent news. He is solid, a team player and can score at both ends;)

Any chance Winston could be given another opportunity as a squad player? Doing really well for Brentford and has demonstrated his fitness across both this and his previous loan spell in MLS.
