Fabianski break down in Baggies warm-up

|

Lukasz Fabianski has broken down in the warm-up for tonight’s match at the Hawthorns and will p-lay no part in the game.

|Details are scarce at the moment but we understand that it’s a knee injury and that he is also likely to miss the game against Saints at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Whether it will affect his build up to the Euros remains to be seen but we have been told that  right now he’s finding it impossible to kick a ball.

If there’s an upside to this – which of course is hard to find – it is that the injury has come at this stage of the season and that he has a summer to get over it.

However, it’s a massive blow to the player although we will need the medics to come back with their report on the problem before becoming too despondent

Darren Randolph takes over in goal against the Baggies.

Declan. You are not yet the finished article. Don’t believe what the England people tell you. Nod your head and show a little willing, but don’t believe them. Your future is with West Ham. The West Ham way is the style that counts. That needs working at to be successful. That means work. Not hard work but dedicated work to make yourself and everyone else around you into memorable, noteworthy players. So to the penalty. Serious practice can only help. Maybe the pathetic effort of hitting the post will cost us very dearly one day. Luckily it wasn’t today. Nothing difficult about a strong kick from 12 yards. Keep it under the bar and between the posts. Well placed but going at pace will make your penalties unstoppable. Practice until you can be confident you will score. And encourage everyone else to do the same. Lead by example. Great season, by the way – thanks.
