Hammer closes in on country record

|

Hammer Andriy Yarmolenko is closing in on his manager’s record for the Ukraine as the country all time record goal scorer.

The 32-year-old Ukrainian scored two goals in two goals over the International break to take his tally to 44 just three away from his national boss Andriy Shevchenko who retired from the International scene in 2012.
Yarmo’s 44 goals in 104 appearances for the Ukraine compares against Shevchenko’s 48 in 111 appearances.
Yarmolenko was on the scoresheet again for Ukraine as they drew their latest FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday night.

Having notched in Saturday’s victory over Finland, the West Ham United forward backed that up with the opening goal in Lviv.

Many have asked why the Hammer can’t replicate his nationalĀ  goal scoring antics for his club.

Yarmo has scored 7 goals in 53 appearances in the Premier League since joining in 2018, he has scored 10 goals in 61 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers
