ClaretandHugh can report that the Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham next week is likely to go ahead.

The Hammers are set to take on Spurs in the quarter-final of the competition next week.

Spurs have seen their last three games postponed, against Rennes, Brighton, and Leicester, with the latter coming on Thursday.

However, there were no issues within Spurs’ squad, with the outbreak coming among the Foxes.

Tottenham had actually travelled up to Leicester for the game and we understand that there are currently no positive COVID cases among the Spurs squad. Their only absences would likely be Sergio Reguilon and Cristian Romero, both of whom are injured.

Premier League clubs are set to meet on Monday to discuss a potential circuit-breaker that would see all games suspended.

If they decide not to call a halt to the season, the Hammers’ clash with Spurs will most likely be on.

The Irons are also likely to have a real advantage, with Tottenham having not played any football since their 3-0 win over Norwich on December 5th.
