Hammers reveal COVID jab transfer policy

|

CandH Exclusive – By Dave Langton

A top Hammers insider has confirmed to ClaretandHugh that the club are very unlikely to sign a player who is anti-vax in either January or the summer.

The COVID crisis engulfing the Premier League has seen a number of matches postponed, including the Hammers’ clash with Norwich on Saturday.

Boss David Moyes has confirmed that there are players within the West Ham squad who aren’t vaccinated against COVID, despite the government currently rolling out booster jabs – and at times coming close to making them mandatrory – after most of the population have been double-jabbed.

And our insider insists the club will do their background checks to ensure they are not signing any players who aren’t vaccinated.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers may actually move to a policy of ensuring that players are jabbed by placing clauses within their contracts but that has yet to be suggested.

The Irons are keen to sign a central defender and a striker in January but they will not be bringing players in who have not had a single jab.

This comes following news yesterday in various media outlets that one quarter of players in the Football League have no vaccination to Covid-19 despite months of encouragement from the EFL and clubs to get jabbed – and currently don’t intend to have one.

Only 59 per cent of players have received two vaccinations, with a further 16 per cent having had a single dose and prepared to have another one.

The alarming figures have changed little in the last two months following a major push by the EFL, clubs and the deputy Chief Medical Officer for England Professor Jonathan Van Tam.

Does the Jab prevent player’s from contracting COVID or passing it on?
…..then why would the club limit the players that they can sign?
Is the insider close to Brady?
So many questions with not many answers.
