Coufal undergoes surgery

|

West Ham have revealed on the official website that Vladimír Coufal has has received successful surgery on a groin injury.

The 29-year-old has been troubled by an ongoing problem and, following specialist consultation, underwent an operation in London this morning.

Head of Medical Richard Collinge said: “Vladimír’s surgery went exactly as planned and he will begin his rehabilitation at Rush Green immediately.”

It’s been clear for some time that Vladi has been having problems and there is no indication at this stage as to when he will return

Ryan Fredericks was involved against Newcastle but after a very poor first half was replaced by Ben Johnson in the second.

It was Ben’s first outing since January and it would be a surprise were he to not start against Wolves on Sunday.

He may not have been entirely at his best but he was certainly an improvement on Fredericks who looked way out of form.
