Moyes pushing for an offer Dec can’t refuse

|

David Moyes is doing his utmost to get the figures right on a new Declan Rice contract offfer.

Publicly the manager has been pushing the captain’s value higher and higher and his last announcement was that it was north of £150 million.

And ClaretandHugh understand that he has privately had regular meetings with the board in a bid to see how much the club can afford to pay the Hammers crown jewel on a new contract.

One source claimed that he had asked whether the club could go as high as £2oo,ooo a week which over  five years would see the player on a deal approaching £50 million.

No decision has to be made at this stage because the Hammers have no intention of selling him over the next 12 months anyway.

But winning the Euro League and qualifying for the Champions League would make things easier when it some to new contract offer time.

However, even as things stand the manager is pushing as hard as he can to ensure the player is presented with an offer he will find very hard to refuse
