Tuchel reveals Chelsea’s Rice position

|
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted  Declan Rice is too expensive for Chelsea given the problems at the club .

And he admits that even if they were free of their current problems the Hammers skipper may be out of their financial range anyway.

We have made it clear on several occasions last week – breaking the original story – that Declan has rejected a new Hammers contract but will remain at the club for another season.

David Moyes too has confirmed there is no intention of allowing to move this summer with the end of the season now closing in big time.

Declan has regularly been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United Man City [Telegraph] but with a £150 million price tag on his head there have been no bids anyway as confirmed to us last night by a club insider.

Ourselves and later Sky News have made it clear he will remain at the Hammers next season and Chelsea have been ruled out of any bid by their manager.

“Maybe he is out of our league if we don’t have the crisis,” he said, as quoted by The Mirror. “That can be when you hear the numbers that are floating around.

“As you know, we generally don’t speak about other players, when it comes to whether we are interested, not interested because we take care of the guys that we have here.

And the situation gives me a slight advantage in that at the moment we cannot even think about buying or selling or doing whatever, so there is nothing to think about.”
