Aguerd arrival would only leave Irons SIX short!

|

Aguerd reported to be in London for medical

West Ham’s first signing of the summer is closing in on a medical but his arrival will still leave the club short of six first teamers.

With Nayef Aguerd now seemingly nailed on to sign at what the Evening Standard claims is for a fee of €20 million which can rise to €35 million with add ons and Angelo Ogbonna having signed a new deal we are now up to 19 – five 0f which are central defenders!

The Rennes player – having been away on international duty with Morocco  – is now in London and understood to be set to take his medical.

One can only assume that Issa Diop – the youngest of the central defenders on the payroll – will be allowed to depart.

Aguerd’s arrival means that for successive seasons we have seen a central defender join as the marquee signing – as he was described to us by an insider …Zouma having of course having arrived last summer!

That he is left sided is a bonus although Oggy remains available for that side of the defence having been handed a new one year deal,

Anyway it’s a start one supposes assuming Alphonee Areola agrees a deal that would take the numbers op to 20.

Only a left back, striker and two or three midfielders would be required which may well mean that along with permanent signings we will be active in the loan market!

Better make that 7 if Aguerd fancies the Saudi cash on the Toon!

Yep, having feelings of when we lost all our best players historically due to the complete lack of ambition of our board, Rice, Bowen and Soucek will be on their toes soon if they have any hopes of winning trophies in their career and who could blame them ?

Or maybe his non arrival will leave us 7 short ? Have to say I couldn’t be more disillusioned with our directors.

    • whats it got to do with them. They allow the manager to set up a scouting system which is what most wanted and it’s still their fault? For crying out loud
