West Ham are reported as being interested in Joakim Maehle once again.
A report in Corriere della Serra’s Bergamo edition claims that Atalanta are willing to sell the player this summer.
Maehle is said to be a target for boss David Moyes as he aims to strengthen his backline in the transfer window.
Vlad Coufal and Ben Johnson both play at right-back for the Hammers but the latter is largely untested across an entire campaign.
Maehle would cost around £12.8m and there is a feeling that the Hammers could table a bid that would satisfy Atalanta’s demands.
That’s a thoroughly decent price for a player who is 25 and has three years remaining on his contract.
It remains to be seen if Moyes is willing to make a bid any time soon but there is a desire from the manager to further strengthen his squad after already signing Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola.
