Report: Huge Onana competition

|

West Ham face serious competition in their bid to sign Amadou Onana from Lille this summer.

A new report from Het Laatste Nieuws claims that there is interest from two other Premier League clubs in attempting to sign the Belgium international.

The Hammers have thus far tabled two bids to sign Onana, both of which have been rejected by the French side.

However, there is now said to be interest from Everton and Leicester, as well.

The Irons’ last bid totalled €30m, which equates to £25.4m, but Lille are aiming to receive €40m for their star man. That equates to £33.9m in pounds.

Onana’s future is up in the air because Lille have appointed Paulo Fonseca as their new manager, and HLN reports that he may not fit into his style of play.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers make a third bid but we know David Moyes is keen to bring another new midfielder into the club after signing Flynn Downes from Swansea.

Groundhog Day for our management – please make a realistic bid and really go for it or leave it alone. You are clearly not going to get a steal, just decide if you want a deal!!! All the rest is time wasting.

If Moyes wasn’t so pig headed & cleared the air with Soucec we wouldn’t need Onana & the money could be utilised to strengthen the squad in other areas where it is needed more
