Moyes pressure intensifies as striker report emerges

|

By Hughie Southon

Manager David Moyes remains under serious pressure to turn things around quickly after the Prem returns on Boxing Day.

The Hammers board continues to look closely at the situation but reports that new strikers – as claimed by The Sun today- could be on their way in is not on as the pressure on him intensifies.

Strikers across the PL and Europe know how limited their chances of games would be under the Moyes policy and aren’t keen to join as a result anyway,

The Hammers have very little money to spend in this window and Moyes has shown in the past that he isn’t keen to buy in the winter .

And the board have made it clear to him that he has to show those players he bought in the summer are up to the job.

Only the four clubs beneath us – Everton, Forest, Southampton and Wolves have scored less goals than us this season.

But that won’t encourage thoughts of a new striker when the obvious answer looks to play Fornals, Benrahma and Paqueta from the start to support the guy up top.

Really can’t understand why Moyes is so reluctant to give some of our brilliant youngsters a chance before we lose more of them to other clubs who can actually see their potential and sell them for peanuts.
Has Moyes forgotten how young Rooney was when he started playing him for Everton, just look around, take Bellingham and Saka for example, give them a chance, they would give you 100% every time.

Talking of strikers,Scamacca played like a sunday league pub footballer in the Cambridge game on monday night and it was not down to their defence. He will end up going back to Italy where he will do a Vlasic/Haller.If Moysie wants a striker then he should look at strikers that can play in his one and only system.

It is baffling why Moyes doesn’t sign players who play his unique system and can hit the ground running. Everyone he signs is either playing out of position, a different format or just not played at all. He dumped Haller, never played Kral, ditto Vlasic. No youngsters brought through, and one he inherited, Ben Johnson, he has played in three different positions at the drop of a hat and then benched. Head scratcher.

Might not be that players are not up to it but simply down to Moyes playing them out of position .
If he signs any player for whatever reason he then can’t blame them if he either has them on the bench or out of position.
Hopefully the penny has dropped with Benrahma but Scamacca needs feeding and service – he doesn’t suddenly become a bad player.
Moyes changed Arnautovic round successfully but he now thinks he can do it with anybody else. f..Fundamental error of thought which may cost us dearly if he doesn’t wake up to the real world
