West Ham have suffered another massive injury blow after it was reported that Danny Ings could be ruled out of action for several weeks.
It’s a massive blow to manager David Moyes who brought the former Villa striker in to overcome the injury to Gianluca Scamacca who himself is out for a period for which no time table has been offered.
Now we will have to wait for the new signing to display his goal scoring abilities with Mikey Antonio the only “recognised” striker available.
Ings made his debut off the bench but faces a short spell on the side lines after being caught by a late tackle during the game’s dying stages.
The Guardian – uin breaking the news – suggest he could to miss league games away to Newcastle on 4 February and at home to Chelsea on 11 February. There is a chance that he could be back for the trip to Tottenham on 19 February, though the home game against Nottingham Forest a week later could be more realistic.
The former Southampton striker has twice sustained long-term knee ligament injuries buit this injury is not linked to those.
That’s what you get for signing a sick note.
Well much as I have been critical of Moyes for many of his decisions this year, it must be acknowledged that he has had terrible luck with injuries to signings this season.
I think you’d have to call that Sod’s Law’!! 🙄

Has Moyes had terrible luck ? Or is there something wrong with the training ? I remember a good many years ago in the days of Harry Rednapp was getting lots of injuries and then they finally found out, it was caused by having mini matches with the younger Players. An investigation into the reason for so many injuries needs to be run again.

Story of our season, its injuries in matches causing the problem just as for quite a few clubs if you look round the division. Players these days,are like whippets compared to good old days when players were built like tanks to survive quagmire pitches.
My main surprise is Antonio has survived fully fit so training and diet regime works!
I called it before the game – said to my mates, being a new West Ham signing, he’ll be in for 17 minutes and out for 6 months. Let’s hope it’s not quite that long…
